A little about myself. My name is Steve Gilles, I'm 29 years old, and was born and raised in Richmond BC. I grew up playing lots of sports, but more specifically I played hockey, lacrosse and golf. My journey to starting this blog started about 10 years ago when I took the Piping foundation program at BCIT. That is where I started my plumbing and gasfitting career, which eventually led me a career in teaching. I am a Red Seal Plumber and a certified gasfitter, and have spent the previous ten years in the plumbing trade working as a service plumber.
In August of 2013 I was hired by the Piping department at BCIT as an instructor. I am actually teaching the same program that I took to get my career started. As part of my training to be an instructor I am taking the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program at Vancouver Community College. One of the courses in the program required me to create a blog, which has brought me here!
